The world view

The world view is the way one perceives all that is existing in his or her world. No two people see the same things - even down to something as simple as colors. There is no way to tell how somebody else sees , say, red. It's just that we all agree that this particular vibration is called red. Someone else may see red as what you call blue, and visa-versa. It's the agreement that matters. This is part of your world view.

It is not just colors, but everything that you consider to exist is part of your unique world view. There is no 'Objective' view of the world, that we know of, though this point can be infinitely argued over. It really doesn't matter, though, since you will always see the world your way. Ten people all watch the exact same car crash, all have ten different stories to tell, even though it was the same car crash. They may all be similar, but will be different just the same. The outcome will still be the same (the end result). This world view, however, can be changed, and added to.

One person can have several world views, and at any time may change that world view. This changing of the world view is what changes the world. The way something is perceived is as important, if not more, than WHAT is being perceived. This is part of the age old axiom - as above, so below - the microcosm is the macrocosm, etc. If you change something in YOUR world view, something will be changed 'outside' of your world view. (NOTE: there is no 'outside' of your world view). For example, lets take an individual who has a nagging pain in there shoulder. There is nothing obviously wrong with their shoulder, so the shaman would go into the 'astral' (I hate using that word - to much goofy connotation, but I have a lack of better words to use), find their light body, and examine it. The astral would be a shift in world views. Maybe their would be something stuck in their necks, like a piece of wood, or something. The shaman would remove it, or call a spirit guide to remove it, and the pain would subside. (NOTE: that would be a Celtic way of healing it) In the Americas, North and South, using drums, songs and rattles and contacting spirit guides to heal would usually be preferred - then the shaman would see the person as being healed in their world view, and then the person would be healed.
