Rene Trouta survived in the tornado, which lifted her on 240 meters and in 12 minutes dropped in 18 km from home.
As a result, 39-year old woman lost one ear, broke the arm, lost all hair and had a lot of small wounds. Missis Trouta and her doctors think that the fact that she stayed alive is a miracle.
- Everything happened so fast that I still feel that it's been a dream, - says Rene, who has been discharged from hospital recently.
- I was posing before the camera, and the next moment something picked me up like a dry leaf. There was such a noise around me as there was freight train coming, and I couldn't do anything, the wind lifted me up in the air. I didn't hope, I knew I would die.
The drama with the happy-end happened when Missis Trouta and her 31-year old husband had heard the sound of the approaching storm and left the house (near Norman, Oclahoma, the USA) to see what was going on. At rather considerable distance they saw the tornado and decided to take several pictures.
- After Jack had photographed me, I ran towards the house, but the tornado approached at the cosmic speed, and suddenly I appeared in the air, - told Rene, hardly speaking through the bandages covering all her head. - I was never so scared in my life! Litter and sticks were beating my body, then I felt the acute pain in my right ear. I was lifted higher and higher, I was swirled and whirled. And then I lost
consciousness.
When Rene Trouta came to herself she was at the top of the hill. She saw many-kilometer tornado track of about 60 kilometers width. The rescue team arrived in a half hour and got her to the hospital.
As for Jack Trouta, he had lucky escape. When the tornado inhaled Rene, he fell down to the ground, held on the tree and lied still until the wind dropped. He was certain that he wouldn't see his wife alive.
The police representative said that nobody else suffered from the tornado. Interestingly, such incidents have already occurred. In 1984 near Frankfurt (Germany) a tornado lifted 64 (!) schoolchildren and released them safe and sound in 150 meters.
