34 years ago Joann Moor yawned and: has never slept from that moment. Somebody else would be glad to have so much spare time! But 59-year-old Joann is really upset. She spends every night sitting in her armchair waiting for sunrise.
In the silence and emptiness I feel as if I were the only person alive on the earth, - tells the Manchester resident. God has put me on hard trial. Oh how I wish I could remember how is it to sleep.
The sleepless nightmare started on a common evening in 1962, when she came home after a hard day at school (miss Moor worked as a teacher)
- I remembered that evening forever -says Joann.
- I had a strange feeling: I seem to see my deceased mother. I don't know what happened then, but I haven't ever slept from that moment.
The doctors studied Joan's phenomena for several years and wrote a number of reports about her disease.
The doctors agreed that their patient suffers from the very rare disease, which affected a part of brain, which led to total loss of sleep. However insomnia doesn't influence Joann's health as human organism is able to function with little sleep or without sleep at all.
However psychological pressure made Joann's life a torment. All she wants is to stop these sufferings and to see her mother in heaven. During the day she spends her time talking to her neighbours who like to visit her. But in the end she stays alone and another sleepless night begins.
