This dark story took place in an American town Larami (Wyoming) in 1914: 24-year-old Ashley Wistel put a gun against her chest and pulled the trigger.
Ashley's death deeply shocked the whole family. The young woman's father being afraid of scandal left the body in the drawing-room, having locked the door for many years. They didn't use any special means to stop the process of decomposing, however, when in 1996 (after 82 years!) Ashley's relative decided to put an end to this family secret and reported to police about the Ashley's remains in the locked room, there was a surprise for police and them.
We can't give the explanation for this phenomena says biochemist Frank Somberta. Usually a body start decomposing in 24 hours after death. But that didn't happen with Wistel's body. Ashley stayed as she was at the time of death. Her skin doesn't seem cold and deadly pale.
Now Ashley Wistel's body is being examined by specialists. They are planning to publish the report on the results of their research.
